Jesus said, “Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.”
He tenderly
reached out to heal a soldier’s severed ear who had come to seize him for a
crime he did not commit.
Anyone who has seen me has seen
the Father.
He gave one
of the highest honors to a disciple who totally abandoned him in his darkest
hour.
Anyone who has seen me has seen
the Father.
He washed the
dirty feet of his companions, knowing that they would soon forsake him.
Anyone who has seen me has seen
the Father.
He showed
mercy to an adulterous woman who was brought to him for judgment, and told her
to go and “sin no more.”
Anyone who has seen me has seen
the Father.
He healed and
forgave all who came to him, and never turned anyone away for any reason.
Anyone who has seen me has seen
the Father.
He warned
religious leaders because they condemned sinners instead of pointing them to a
merciful God.
Anyone who has seen me has seen
the Father.
He lends his
strength to those who are weak.
Anyone who has seen me has seen
the Father.
Even as he
suffered on the cross, Jesus told his dear friend and his mother to take care
of each other.
Anyone who has seen me has seen
the Father.
He refused to
allow the crowds to go home hungry after a long day of ministering to them.
Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.
Jesus prayed for those
who crucified him and for those who wanted him dead while suffering on the
cross. (this sentence should be moved over to the left margin but I couldn’t
get the margin right)
Anyone who has seen me has seen
the Father.
He invited
the weary and worn-out to come to him.
Those who are
full of sin and shame.
Those who are
tired of working so hard to be loved.
Those who
wonder if there is any hope for them.
Those who
have turned their backs on God.
Come freely
without fear or shame
For he is
full of loving-kindness and tender mercies.
So come to
Jesus, and then you will know what God is really like.
