I believe that Isaiah 7 and 8 are a prophetic parallel to our day offering insight and wisdom. For thus the Lord spoke to me with mighty power and instructed me not to walk in the way of t his people, saying, "You are not to say, It is a conspiracy! In regard to all that this people call a conspiracy, And you are not to fear what they fear or be in dread of it. "It is the Lord of hosts whom you should regard as holy. And He shall be your fear, and He shall be your dread." Isaiah 8:12-13 The people of Judah feared an alliance between Israel's Northern Kingdom and the Syrian King. Isaiah warned them to put their trust in God, but Judah's King would not listen to him and instead trusted in an alliance with Assyria's King. Since the people were in fear and trusted in a man, God warned Isaiah not to be swept up into the idolatry that was overtaking all of the people around him. Sound familiar?
